Urological treatment with ESWT shock waves in Gdansk – how the device works

Thanks to the action of precise shock waves, Duolith induces an inflammatory reaction in the body in a controlled manner. It mobilises the body to start regenerative processes, reducing pain, eliminating swelling or synthesising blood vessels.

Due to the possibility personalised adjustment of the range and energy of the wave, as well as the depth of its action, it demonstrates high therapeutic effectiveness.

The device is distinguished by its high precision and the wide range of the wave’s reach, that is why it also works on areas that are difficult to access and deeply located. It is the accuracy of the penetration and its depth that makes the shockwave applied to one side of the penis for men.

What are the advantages of therapy with Duolith?

  • Non-invasive solution – treatment without surgical intervention,
  • No need for pharmacotherapy,
  • Short treatment sessions,
  • Painlessness of the treatment,
  • No side effects.

What conditions does Duolith help to solve?

  • ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION – THERAPY GDAŃSK

Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) directed at the penis is an effective way to restore full function to this organ in men with erectile dysfunction. It is a safe alternative and an effective potency treatment available without a prescription. Potency problems severely disrupt the sense of masculinity. They are affecting an increasing number of men at younger and younger ages. The most common treatment is pharmacotherapy, which, yes, can be effective, but only masks the problem. ESWT therapy gets to the root of the problem and supports its elimination.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a sexual dysfunction that is increasingly common among men. Men affected by ED are unable to develop or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse despite sexual stimulation. Most cases of ED have a vascular origin. When treating ED with shockwaves, low-intensity shockwaves are applied to different treatment zones on the penis and perineum. The result of the treatment is a visible improvement in sexual function.

  • PEYRONIE’S DISEASE – TREATMENT IN GDANSK

Induratio penis plastica also known as Peyronie’s disease, is an acquired and generally progressive condition of the penis, also known as penile plastic sclerosis. Most men notice the presence of the disease when they feel thickened nodules (known as plaques) under the skin of the penis. The disease generally affects so-called middle-aged men – more than 60 per cent of sufferers are between the ages of 40 and 60; however, men between the ages of 18 and 80 are also affected. As the disease progresses, pain can occur with or without an erection and the penis becomes curved during erection, which can make sexual intercourse difficult or impossible.

The treatment process begins with a thorough diagnosis of the condition. A penile ultrasound will need to be performed to confirm the existence of the plaque and to determine its location. A general urine examination will also be performed. Treatment consists of a series of shockwave treatments that will soften the plaque and thus existing symptoms will be alleviated or completely cured with each treatment. ESWT wave therapy is very effective and non-invasive.

The therapy leads to a reduction in pain, reduction and flexibility of the plaque, reduction of penile curvature, improvement in the quality of the erection.

  • CHRONIC PROSTATITIS – ESWT THERAPY GDAŃSK

Chronic prostatitis is characterised by complaints in the pelvic floor, testicles, lower abdomen.

Typical symptoms of chronic prostatitis are:

  • discomfort felt in the perineum, testicles, lower abdomen and lower back,
  • more frequent urination, nocturia,
  • weakened urine stream.

The most common cause of prostatitis is a bacterial or viral infection, but some varieties of the disease do not have a precisely defined aetiology.

The most modern therapeutic option for treating chronic prostatitis is ESWT therapy. During a treatment session, the doctor uses special equipment that generates acoustic shock waves at a specially selected frequency and power. The therapeutic waves are applied directly through the patient’s skin in the perineal area. The action of the waves improves the blood supply to the prostate gland, thus reducing the discomfort associated with the disease.

The full therapy is concluded in several weekly therapy sessions (each session lasts approximately 20 minutes).

PELVIC PAIN – SHOCK WAVE THERAPY GDAŃSK

Chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS) is characterised by long-lasting and recurrent symptoms originating from the lower urinary tract. These symptoms can occur at any age but the largest group are men between the ages of 25 and 45. The most common symptoms include:

  • Pain of variable intensity in the lower abdomen, scrotum, testicles, perineum and thighs
  • Prominent pressure soreness of the prostate on per rectum examination
  • Frequent daytime and nighttime urination
  • Difficulty passing urine
  • Burning during micturition
  • sudden urge to urinate
  • Haematuria may occur
  • Pain during ejaculation
  • Premature ejaculation
  • Presence of blood in sperm
  • Decreased or no sperm

Erectile dysfunction and potency

Long-term occurrence of these complaints and their recurrence can negatively affect well-being and cause emotional disturbances such as depression or neurosis.

The treatment process is preceded by a diagnostic consultation to exclude an active bacterial inflammatory process. The doctor then refers the patient to shockwave treatments.

ESWT shockwave therapy is recognised as the most effective treatment for chronic pelvic pain in men.

The healing effect can be felt after the first treatment.
