Correction of protruding ears
For many people, protruding ears are a visible beauty defect and a cause of complexes. If the earlobes are large at the same time, patients often lose self-confidence, which affects their relationship with those around them. Sometimes it turns out that such people give up their social life, whereas children struggle with unpleasant comments from their peers. Fortunately, the appearance of this part of the body, can be easily corrected, and treatments are carried out on children as young as six years old. The result is not only an attractive appearance, but also psychological comfort and regained self-confidence. The surgery is carried out mainly for aesthetic reasons, as protruding ears are not a health risk.
Correction of protruding ears – what does the procedure look like?
Plastic surgery for protruding ears is not complicated. The whole process takes about 2 hours and is carried out under local anaesthetic. The incision is made at the back of the ear, so after the procedure the scars are almost invisible and the ears adhere naturally to the head.
Correction of protruding ears – how to proceed after surgery?
Usually, a special dressing has to be worn for the first two days after the surgery, which is later replaced by an elastic bandage that the patient receives at the clinic.
The bandage should be worn every day for one month, and in the following month, only at night.
For the first seven days after treatment, do not physically strain or exercise. Overexposure to the sun, sauna and solarium should also be avoided.
This procedure is performed in our clinic by plastic surgeons
dr Kajetan Kociszewski, dr Paweł Płosaj, dr Elżbieta Klein.
*The price of the treatment may change due to the extent and type of anaesthesia. The final cost of the procedure/operation is determined by the doctor in consultation with the patient.
